FORM2FORMATION

1. Illustrated Glossary:

Form: it's a structure.

Platonic forms : they are basically the regular polyhedron with same faces meeting each other at a vertex.

Half cuts: using a cutter with less amount of pressure so that the sides fold accordingly.

Asymmetrical: it means Uneven form

Extrusion: its a process of extending dot into form. Metamorphosis: Transformation of small dot into final product.

2. Forms in our surrounding

Subtraction: Excluding a part of form makes a new form

Here is the simple example:

Addition: The processing of extending/ adding one or more forms to the main form.

Here is the simple example:

Extrusion: The process of extending dots into forms.

Here is the simple example:

Characteristics and Properties of Plaster of Paris

POP ( PLASTER OF PARIS) is a powder material.

its made by adding water to it.

after pop dries up we can see it forms a hard and thick surface.

It is easy to mix

It takes time to settle. it usually take 20-30 min depending on the amount of mixture added water.

it is also used for making structures.

It gets dried up easily.

Do’s and Don'ts:

first of all, the water and pop ration should be proper or else the mixture does not work.

Mixtures of pop should be in the proper form of paste.

It cannot be used in moist situations.

observe while filling the mixture in your mold that the mixture fills up completely or else there would be air filled up in some areas which wont be of any use later.

using ohp can help in the final outcome having a proper finished look.

YOU CAN ALSO USE SAND PAPER .

In the end i would just like to say that it was really fun working on this project as POP was a new medium for us o work with and not only this i enjoyed knowing about platonic forms.

There are 6 different methods like dimension change, curve, stepped, twisted, transformation, asymmetrical extrusions to create one single form. I understood that mistakes are useful the more I make the smarter I get. I made and I learnt. at first it was really hard for me to work with all these things and it took most of my time just for understanding how and what. but now i know that how i can improve what i have made and everything . To be honest i am not really satisfied with my work of this project and taking that into notice i will try my best to improve my work at a good level. even after all this i would like to say that there wouldn't have been a much better opportunity for me to know about all this and to know about my weakness .

I will work on this and will keep you updated.

thankyou.

have a good day!

One Square Yard project was a very beautiful project. I lack skills in stitching I know that and even it is difficult for me to do things...

Harshita,

In this post, I would like you to discuss with your peers or take help from a dictionary to check your understanding of the meanings of the words in "Illustrated Glossary".

Also, the "Forms in your surrounding" had to be sketched by you - we want to see how you visualise (see) the addition or subtraction of a form taking place around you.
