TAKE AWAYS FROM THE TALKS
The different talks were given by different artist/designers by spreading spark wherever they go.
The first talk was given by Dr Deepak Kannal , he talked and gave multiple explanation of different phases of art and how their is no intention in art ,and about different like intention, style, design phases changes taken from different phases and also how new style of art begun leaving the old ones behind. Later he talked about talked about Zeitgeist which means spirit of age and explained the same with different Chitra's and how these Indian Chitra's ruled all over.
Chitra's like- Satya Chitra in which the realistic sculptures are basically formed, Nagara Chitra is known for for well composed ,having emphasis and balance in the art, and such many more.
In the end, he talked about style and riti which are actually kind of similar to one another in some sense but equally different to one another. Riti is kind of genre, manner and style which is basically of time, region, person.
The 2nd talk was held by the Prof. Snehanshu Mukherjee who talks all around about Modernism. He started the day by asking us the question about how modernism a boon to us and how is it bane to the environment. At that moment I realized that modernism is basically to us how it is now and not what was it in the past. He told that in modernism developments have been divided into different isms like futurism , minimalism etc. Development of scient in today's is what modernism is. All these development not only helped the industry but played a significant role on how design is carried out and how it doesn't need people to get work done fat but all of this lead to one thing that is UNEMPLOYEMNT. Their are even many cons of the same like the growth of pollution in environment. But when we look today, the greatest thing that modernism has given to us is access to all goods all across the globe.
Just like prof. said ,Man himself, has been the price of the Great Mother’s gift of life , This question is what confronts an individual.
Talk 3 was all about costumes/ clothing and everything related to it. The question raised by Prof. Archana Shastri about how it started , where it came from, and etc. The one thing that defines the clothing is its culture . Like what king of culture is followed by people of a particular community , what are their beliefs , what are the habits , and etc. For example - India has multiple cultures and for each culture their are famous clothing which is worn by that particular community or going for another example , in India women wear saree , which is a traditional dress as a whole or any other ethnic wear whereas in America women wear western clothing which is their tradition way of dressing. She taks about 6 disciplines of anything same goes to clothing i.e., Ethnography- origin, Anthropology- mankind, Archaeology- past but not evident just collection of material and assumptions, Sociology- governing factors, History and Art. She also says that the body is center of clothing, when it comes to clothing body comes in mind. In the end by summing up , she says man, material, environment, communication, world view, skills are the factors that defines and lead to making of cloths.
The Talk 4 was all about Identity and Design & Identity in Design , it was one of the very interesting topic on which Anisha Shekhar Mukherji talked about.
He basically talks about the Indian term " Lakshana" which means identity.
He talks about what is lakshana of a product , people , object and anything which means how is the subject behaving in respond with its environment . the term design have multiple opinions which varies from people to people , community to community . One community design may or may not be liked by the other community. Here, he took the examples of Indian gods like that people of other countries says Murtis of Indian gods seems horrific to them and even used in book cover of children book as a ghost/ dangerous people.
In the end he sums up by saying that cultural designs has nothing to do with modernism and other countries also have cultural designed product.
INTERNAL PROCESS OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION RESULTS
Creativity is what is original, the idea that is originally generated by us and not copied/ borrowed from other. Something that is put into use is what is called as Creativity.
Creativity is what that belongs to us and have ours rights, It is an ability or skill that is used to produce new things.
Creativity is also a skill that could be learned with time and one can even unlearn this.
Its something from which one sees the world from different perspective. Who has a different point of view for everything. Doing things differently is what creativity is and it is also called as Thinking out of the box.
Creativity comes in different ways , even folding napkin in a different way is what creativity is.
According to me, creative process is varied from person to person . Everyone has different triggers some people get triggered at night while some during the morning, some when they are in a good mood while some when they are depressed , some while talking while some listening to their favorite playlist.
Similarly, I get triggered when I am fresh minded or during late nights. After that I think about the things which can lead to good creativity like how will others perceive this , will it be successful later so in the end , I start working on the same.
This is how Internal process of creative expression results.
REALIZATION ABOUT VISUAL LANGUAGE
Visual language plays a very important role while portraying things through visuals. When we look around everything has its own visual language weather it be a single shape .
Even a simple shape can have multiple perceptions Or even a blank page has its own visual language.
In design visual language plays equal important role a others. visual language should be understandable to the user, in which user can make meaning out of it by just looking at it.
For eg- visuals given in textbooks are for better understanding for the user who is reading it.
